The turin pilot: Rete Case del Quartiere.

Rete Case del Quartiere (RcQ) presents the three main scenarios on which the CO3 APP will be tested. RcQ is composed of 8 sites: CdQ Vallete, Hub Cecchi point, Spazio Quattro, CdQ San salvario, Cascina Roccafranca, Barrito, casa nel parco, bagni pubblici via aguè.

For the first pilot tests of the CO3 APP they will focus on these three spaces:

  • Multicultural Hub Cecchi Point -> Managed by a second-level association (Il Campanile), used by citizen groups. Its multifunctional space allows the development of educational activities and different workshops.
  • Spazio 4 -> Multifunctional hall with coworking space, room for workshop activities. Hosts playrooms for kids, time bank interchange point, job seeking and co-seeking info points. Managed by the second level association Casa delle Rane.
  • CdQ San salvario- >  The most used and popular space. More than 70 organizations offer their services in the form of different activities. This space contains seven multifunctional rooms for events such as theatres or workshops. A local development agency manages the space.

In these RcQ spaces they will use the following CO3 modules with the following objectives:

  1. AR will allow them to display enriched information about the courses at the bulletin boards. Also, it provides a mechanism to exchange the tasks that the different event organizers create for volunteers or for those who assist in carrying out the event. It will also be used to promote the interaction of multimedia elements with QRs.
  2. Blockchain will be used to support the token exchange at each CdQ. These tokens can be from credits created by each CdQ, coupons, rights to use spaces, prizes to volunteers.

Below there is a list of the use cases and the indication of how the technologies will be used.

  1. AR-enhanced content use case: Citizens are provided with a limited amount of tokens that allow them to add multimedia elements in the different CdQ spaces. These objects can be from notice boards, course information, multimedia elements. The main augmented content will be the event announcements in which the creator can hang previews for those interested to sign up. These event announcements will have opinions that people can add, and that will be limited by the number of tokens they have available.
  2. Prepaid cards: Each CdQ can create its prepaid coupon card. These coupons can be spent on different event offer. Frequent use of the card can bring benefits in the form of discounts (or money back). Some gamification rules can be used to reward the use of the card and participation in courses by rewarding with a certain amount of credits. This prepaid card also allows citizens to sign up for future events, making credits available instantly to the organizer being released if the required number of attendees is reached or returned if is not. This can be regulated with the usage of smart contracts. The organizers who receive the credits can decide whether to spend them on renting time and space at the CdQ or even access to other events.
  3. Volunteers:  In this scenario, the volunteers within each CdQ, who support the activities, receive a number of tokens once the task/course where they have been helping is completed. These tokens can be used in courses held at the CdQ itself.
