Scope and Objectives
The 9th Samos Summit on ICT-enabled Governance offers an unprecedented opportunity to see, interact with and influence cutting-edge Information and Communication Technologies research projects and initiatives. Attended by high caliber experts from research, administrations and enterprises worldwide, the Samos 2019 Summit focuses on the newest developments of ICT applications in the areas of digital governance, under the main headline
Government 3.0
Future Public Services – Legal Informatics – Digital Governance Science
Specific focus in this year’s summit will be given to the following areas of ICT-enabled governance, aiming at delivering high level insights on the new roadmap for research and practice:
- Future Pubic Services theoretical approaches and examples from all levels of public administration, especially combining societal citizens’ knowledge and effort with information systems
- New models and tools for the open provisiοn of legal data to citizens and busineses, through advanced semantics and AI-based text mining, utilising High Performance Computing.
- New technological evolutions in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Distibuted Ledger Technologies, Bots and Agents, Data Mining, Internet of Services and Things, and more.
- New epistemological approaches for the main elements of Government 3.0, such as ontological resources and definitions, neighboring scientific domains, taxonomies of research topics, training curricula, future roadmaps and foresights
Call for contributions
You may state your idea or intention to take part in one or more of the following ways:
- A extended abstract of an unpublished research paper, on one or more of the key subjects of the Summit, (typically 2000 words + pictures). Academic paper proposals will be invited to form a Special Issue in a well established Journal.
- An on-site presentation on one the subjects of the Summit (typically 20 minutes, via slides). Usually a presentation based on a new approach, an innovative project or a research outcome.
- A presentation via skype (10 minutes, slides), as above. Skype presentations are limited to one per session.
- A position statement at a workshop (5 minutes, talk/slide), in any of the workshops that are in the agenda.
- Organisation of a new workshop (45 or 90 minutes), on one of the key topics.
- A hands-on session or tutorial at the summer school (60 minutes, slides/systems). Expect classes of 10-15 students, each with laptop and mobile device.
