The European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) is a non-profit association set up to encourage the growth of the Citizen Science movement in Europe in order to enhance the participation of the general public in scientific processes, mainly by initiating and supporting citizen science projects as well as performing research on citizen science. ECSA is framing citizen science as an open and inclusive approach, for example by supporting and being part of the exploration, shaping and development the different aspects of the citizen science movement, its better understanding and use for the benefit of decision making.
ECSA draws on +200 individual and organizational members from over 28 countries across the European Union and beyond. Launched during the EU GREEN WEEK in June 2013, ECSA has grown from an informal network of researchers and communicators interested in Citizen Science into the European reference network of Citizen Science initiatives. ECSA offers the opportunity to interact among groups and disciplines that already have or want to build a relation to citizen science, through activities in H2020 projects, contributing to policy briefs, the open science policy platform and being part of the development of principles for good practice in citizen science.
EU-Citizen.Science is an online platform for sharing knowledge, tools, training and resources for citizen science – by the community, for the community.
The vision for the platform is to aid in the mainstreaming of citizen science, and build on the growing impact of citizens participating in research across the full range of scientific enquiry, by supporting the sharing of knowledge, know-how, and experience between anyone doing or wanting to do citizen science.

Citizens In Power (CIP) is an independent non-profit, non-governmental organization. CIP aims at the development of different ramifications of entrepreneurship, education and democratic dialogue in Cyprus and abroad. In compliance with the Convention on Human Rights, WeCitizens strives to be an association of voters, a ‘political wikipedia’, an educational institution for citizenship and a quality-surveyor of the public management. We create tools and we initiate campaigns to promote transparency and excellence in the governance of the state, a vibrant democracy in the person’s service and the citizen’s interest in politics.
We have produced five vote advice applications (VAA) in 2014 in Belgium for EU and other elections. In 2016 we started publishing an Index of transparency of political parties. In 2015, we put online PoliticiansOnline, which is the biggest publicly available database about Belgian politicians (with 17 000 records). It is interactive and will be participative in the future.
WeCitizens is politically impartial. We have around 20 000 readers of our newsletter (in French and Dutch). In 2018, twenty associations have joined as member of our general assembly. We aim to develop pedagogical kits for citizenship education. We promote the system of delegated democracy.
The European Social Simulation Association (ESSA) promotes the development of social simulation research, education and application in Europe. Founded on a manifesto signed by many social simulation researchers in 1993, the basis of the ESSA’s Constitution was formed.
ESSA has become the most important hub of social simulation worldwide. By collaborating with CSSSA, the Computational Social Science Society of the Americas, and PAAA, the Pacific Asian Association for Agent-based Approach in Economic & Social Complex Systems, ESSA has promoted international initiatives to build a bridge between regional groups and associations.
EBAN is the pan-European representative for the early stage investor community gathering over 150 member organizations in more than 50 countries today. Established in 1999 by a group of pioneer angel networks in Europe with the collaboration of the European Commission and EURADA, EBAN represents a sector estimated to invest 11.4 billion Euros a year and playing a vital role in Europe’s future, notably in the funding of SMEs. EBAN fuels Europe’s growth through the creation of wealth and jobs.

Since its creation in 1994, the FIT has provided a financial support of more than 39 million Swiss francs. About 400 projects have been submitted to the FIT, which has granted 228 loans to 191 innovative companies.
Including the 7 companies that have been incorporated after a FIT Grant and that are still active, 146 companies are still in activity in Switzerland, which represents a survival rate of 73%. Many of these startup’s projects have become strong job-creative companies (cf. chart below).

They offer a small range of companies each month to their investors community. Startups and small companies are chosen with good care and have to go through a whole process of financial analysis. They also prefer to select companies with a real innovative value added.
With Anaxago, young and small companies can find funding and support to grow and develop. They give them a chance to be the actors of tomorrow’s growth and reboost their economy.
Since its launch, Anaxago gathered 100 000 members and invested more than 130M€ funding more than 200 businesses.

Civil Society Europe (CSE) brings together 28 European networks of civil society organisations (CSO) working towards regenerating the European project around the shared values of Equality, Solidarity, Inclusiveness and Democracy. Our main objectives: to facilitate and enable horizontal and vertical dialogue between European civil society organisations and policy-makers and help strengthening CSOs in their activities and relations with the institutions. The organisation was founded in December 2014 in Rome at the close of the European Year of citizens as an initiative of organisations that had worked together in the European Year of Citizens Alliance. Its membership has grown since then to encompass the various sectors of civil society. CSE has been established as an international not for profit organisation under Belgian law since June 2016.
CSE is funded through membership fees and contributions by its members. CSE is an independent voice promoting a space for structured civil dialogue and citizen’s participation at all levels.
